In November 2025, the Future Nottingham 2 Strategic Case for Change was approved by University Council. We would like to know about how you feel about the proposed direction of change for the university, and your experiences as a student.

What is the Strategic Case for Change?

The Strategic Case for Change contains a proposal for change at the University of Nottingham, including:

• reducing our total number of courses available to future students
• restructuring the institution to ensure that the right teams are in place to provide the best student experience possible
• creating a research framework that will ensure the university continues to be a world-leading institution

These changes are being proposed to give us the best chance of weathering financial challenges to the UK higher education sector, and to continue delivering an excellent learning experience into the future.

However, it’s important to remember that no changes have been agreed at this stage. Approval of the proposal simply means that we are commencing our engagement period.

How can I share my feedback?

Throughout March, we will be hosting:

• Drop‑in/roadshow sessions: across University Park, Jubilee Campus, Sutton Bonington, and residential accommodation sites
• Engagement sessions: one in-person and one virtual session to ensure everyone has a chance to share their views

Drop-in/roadshow sessions

What are the drop-in/roadshow sessions?

These informal sessions give you the chance to pop by and provide your views at a time that suits you. There’s no need to sign up - just stop by when you’re free.

What will the drop-ins/roadshows cover?

The drop-ins will provide an opportunity to:

• Share feedback through a short survey
• Speak directly with members of the FN2 Programme team
• Drop in at a time that suits you

We’ll be hosting these at multiple locations across our campuses and accommodation sites.

• Drop-in session 2: Wednesday 4 March 2026, 1pm-4pm, Pope Building, Telford Exhibition Hall

There is no sign-up required, just come along on the day!

Engagement sessions

The engagement sessions are different to the drop-in sessions and will be an opportunity to explore the Strategic Case for Change in more depth, have an open discussion, and share detailed feedback.

We’ll be sharing more details soon about the engagement sessions and how you can sign up, so keep an eye out for updates.

How will my feedback be used?

Feedback from the sessions will be:

• Captured thematically (not attributed to individuals)
• Used to inform understanding of the impacts of the changes proposed in the Strategic Case for Change
• Shared with senior leaders and governance groups as part of the next phase
