Student Engagement Dashboard – supporting your academic engagement

Monday, 06 September 2021
The new Student Engagement Dashboard is being launched for the Autumn Semester and will help staff identify students in need of academic support.

Back in May we told you about the Student Engagement Dashboard, a new tool to help staff identify and support undergraduate and postgraduate taught students who are beginning to struggle with their studies or more general wellbeing. Following a successful adoption of the dashboard in the Faculty of Science, it will be rolled out to the rest of the university in advance of the 2021/22 academic year.

The dashboard compiles existing data pertaining to your use of digital learning tools to provide key members of academic and support staff with an overview of your academic engagement.

The dashboard will be used to support your welfare and will not impact your grades or assessments. If we notice a significant change in your levels of academic engagement, your personal tutor or a member of the Support and Wellbeing team may reach out to you with an offer of support. There will be no judgement attached to such an offer – merely an offer of help if you need it.

If you are on a sponsored student visa the dashboard will also be used to support the monitoring requirements of UK Visas and Immigration.

The Student Engagement Dashboard is an exciting new step in improving the way that staff support your welfare at the university. You will be able to request a copy of the data we hold about you in the dashboard at any time. To find out more, please visit the Student Engagement Dashboard webpage.
