Summer school for mature students

Wednesday, 28 May 2025
Free academic, wellbeing and social activities for mature students.

If you are an undergraduate student aged 21 and over or a postgraduate student aged 25 and over, this mature student summer school is an opportunity to engage in academic skills activities, health and wellbeing support, creativity and socialising.

The summer school runs Monday-Thursday for two weeks between Monday 30 June and Thursday 10 July.

Attendees can book onto morning or afternoon sessions, or both. You can attend as little or as many sessions as you like, depending on your time restraints and reasons for attending the summer school.

Sessions include:

  • Academic Skills: A variety of sessions to improve academic confidence, a chance to ask specific questions or just to top up your academic skills
  • Wellbeing: Reflect on and learn about implementing techniques to support healthy mental wellbeing around a busy student schedule
  • Advice: Information and guidance tailored to the needs and experiences of mature students
  • Social: A variety of opportunities to socialise with other mature students in a non-academic environment, including opportunities to chat and relax, to do some crafting, play games or take part in activities off campus
