Support for students affected by current events in the Middle East

Monday, 02 March 2026
In light of current events in the Middle East region, we would like to remind everyone in our community of the range of specialist support and advice available to you.

Our teams are monitoring events in the region and will be reaching out to student and staff communities who are most likely to be affected, to offer support and advice as needed.

We are also advising anyone planning to travel to, or within, the region to check the latest travel advice from the UK Government and relevant authorities in the region.

We know this will be a stressful and worrying time for many in our community – please do access support where needed and signpost our services to anyone who may need them.

The Chaplaincy and Faith Support team are here to support all students and staff of any faith or none. Visit the Chaplaincy webpages to find out how you can access their support.

Support for students

If you’re struggling with academic matters or any issue related to your wellbeing, you can book an appointment – in-person or online – with your local Support and Wellbeing team. Book through MyWellbeing in the StudentLife portal.

You can also check in with your personal tutor, Here for You guide, or supervisor for support and guidance.

Report and Support

The University of Nottingham is committed to ensuring we do everything we can to provide a safe and supportive environment for everyone.

If you or someone you know has experienced or witnessed unacceptable behaviour, you can tell us anonymously or ask to speak to an advisor through our Report and Support portal.

Speaking to an advisor does not mean that you are making a formal report to the university, it is to enable you to access the support you need to make an informed decision.
