Support for those staying in Nottingham over the winter

There will be a variety of activities and support available on campus for all students staying in Nottingham – including catering, events and wellbeing support.

Services on campus may close or have reduced opening hours over the winter break.

On-campus dining

Students who are staying in Nottingham over the winter break (including those staying off campus) will be able to attend meals at Derby Hall on a pay-as-you-go basis from Saturday 17 December to Monday 2 January inclusive. Times and prices can be found below. Please let the catering team at Derby Hall know if you have any dietary requirements.

Brunch: £4.50
11am-12pm

Dinner: £6.75
5pm-6pm

Christmas dinner

All students staying in Nottingham over the winter break (including those staying off campus) are invited to a Christmas dinner from 5-6pm on Sunday 25 December at Derby Hall. Vegan options are available.

This meal will be provided free of charge but you must book in advance.

New Year's Eve dinner

All students staying in Nottingham over the winter break (including those staying off campus) are invited to a New Year's Eve dinner from 5-6pm on Saturday 31 December at Derby Hall. 

This meal will be provided free of charge but you must book in advance.

Oasis Breakfast Club

The Oasis free breakfast service will continue until Thursday 22 December. It will shut briefly for the winter break and reopen on Tuesday 3 January.

From Monday-Friday you’ll be able to help yourself to a free selection of breakfast items (cereal, toast, fruit). There will also be staff on hand for a chat if there’s anything you need to talk about.

ResX activities and support

ResX will be hosting festive games and activities in Derby Hall every evening, 6-10pm from Friday 23 December through to Tuesday 27 December and again from Saturday 31 December to Sunday 1 January. Anyone is able to attend, whether you're staying in halls or in the surrounding community.

ResX will be available to support students staying in halls from 6pm-3am between the dates of 23 December 2022 and 2 January 2023. Outside of these dates the normal operational hours of 9am-3am will apply. You can contact the team on 0115 748 7600 or by emailing resx@nottingham.ac.uk

Chaplaincy

Chaplains will be on call for urgent pastoral support from Monday 19 December to Monday 9 January 2023. They can be contacted via Security on 0115 951 3013.

Chat with Friends

International students will be able to meet and chat with other international students and Nottingham locals on Zoom every Tuesday, 12.30-1.30pm throughout the winter break.
