Your last chance to complete the national census

Wednesday, 05 May 2021
Complete the national census now to avoid a £1,000 fine.

Back in March we told you about the national census, engagement with which is a legal requirement for everyone living in England and Wales. Census day has now passed but you can still complete it until Monday 17 May.

The Census Compliance Team will then start issuing fines of up to £1,000 to anyone who has not completed it.

Complete the census

If you have any questions about the census you will need to contact the Office for National Statistics.

Who needs to complete the census?

All students must complete the census, whether you’re living in halls, in private accommodation in Nottingham or at home, or elsewhere with relatives/friends.

The only students who do not need to complete the census are international students who are not currently living in England or Wales and do not have a term-time address here. If you do usually have a term-time address but have not been here due to the pandemic, you still need to complete the census.
