Who is the course for?Advanced Dietetics Practice Education Front Page Image

The UoN Advanced Dietetics Practice Education course aims to support dietitians with responsibility for practice education through addressing emerging areas to further broaden knowledge and skills of practice educators who train our dietetic (MNutr) students.

The course is designed specifically for those who are: 

  • Student training leads or staff who regularly assess students and support other dietitians in student training
  • The course will run for approx. 2 hours

What is Advanced DPE training and what does it involve?

The Advanced course content includes:

  • Information about our quality assurance cycle, quality meetings and placement allocation, BDA and HCPC monitoring
  • Ensuring quality of placement and innovative ways of meeting LOs (against a background of staff shortages and NHS pressures)
  • Supporting struggling students- including a mental health focus
  • Professionalism issues
  • Overview of CPEP role, lessons learnt and the overall vision of HEE to grow capacity. focusing on possible solutions and enablers to increase learner numbers
  • BDA update on common assessment tools

Equipment and IT set-up:

The Advanced course is accessed and delivered entirely online using MS Teams. You will require a laptop/tablet/PC with a working microphone and webcam to be able to fully engage with the course content.

You will be able to access the MS Teams meetings through the link provided within the online learning platform or via the separate email invite that will be sent to you.
