Teaching Summary

I am a Teaching Associate in Department for Foundation Engineering & Physical Sciences (FEPS).

I support and mentor students throughout the Foundation Year and produce, and support the making of, video and audio teaching and engagement resources for the FEPS department.

I teach on a number of modules in FEPS including EF0EFS, EF0ESS and EF0AES.

I carry out stimulating and engaging outreach activities in Primary schools, Secondary schools and internally at the University with the aims of increasing uptake in STEM subjects and addressing the gender imbalance in Physics and Engineering.

Current Research

When not teaching I carry out research into the physics of space and spaceflight. I am involved with The Gateway Earth Development Group who are currently investigating the feasibility of placing a space station at the edge of Earth's gravity well in a geostationary orbit. The plan is to develop a safe, functional and cost effective architecture for interplanetary space travel.
