Joint Geographical Association (Nottingham Branch) and University of Nottingham School of Geography Seminar.

Part of the School Seminar Series.

This special event will showcase research in the School of Geography that examines the science and politics of climate change and environmental decision making. It is scheduled to coincide with the COP26 UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow. 

Speakers will include:  

Dr Arabella Fraser

Arabella is a Nottingham Research Fellow in the School of Geography. Trained as a social and political scientist, Arabella’s research specialises in the politics of urban resilience in the Global South in the context of natural disasters and climate change. Arabella also has extensive experience working alongside policy and charitable partners.  

Dr Chris Ives 

Chris is Assistant Professor in the School of Geography. An interdisciplinary sustainability scientist, Chris’s expertise is in urban social-ecological systems and the human dimensions of environmental management. He is also course director of the Environmental Leadership and Management MSc programme. 

Professor Simon Gosling 

Simon Gosling is Professor of Climate Risk in the School of Geography. His research focuses on understanding the impacts of climate change on natural and human systems, and bridging the boundary between physical science and impact and policy-related areas. His current research focuses on global- and catchment-scale hydrology and water resources.
