Congratulations to…

  • Sarah Hall, who has been appointed by House of Lords as a Special Advisor to the European Affairs Committee on a new inquiry focusing on post- Brexit financial services.
  • Ben Chandler, who has been awarded the Lewis Penny medal by the Quaternary Research Association (QRA). The award recognises Ben’s significant contributions to methodological developments in the field of glacial geology.
  • Richard Field, who has been appointed to the Plan Vivo Foundation’s Biodiversity Standard Working Group. The group’s remit is to develop and implement the world’s first biodiversity credit standard. This follows Richard’s involvement in the Plan Vivo’s Biodiversity Uplift Methodology Working Group in 2021, which developed underpinning methodology for the standard.
  • Doreen Boyd, who was part of a successful bid by the university to the Turing University Partner Network.  Doreen will serve on the network’s Coordination and Advisory Group.
  • Catherine Dorey, who has been awarded a 'highly commended' prize by the Quaternary Research Association for her dissertation entitled 'The changing landscapes of the Southern Hemisphere mid-latitudes throughout the Holocene'. Her supervisor was Michela Mariani.
