Biography

I am a Postdoctoral Researcher focusing on disease ecology and have been working in the School of Geography since 2017. I previously completed my PhD also in the School of Geography investigating the niche of the bacteria Yersinia pestis, the bacterial agent of plague, at both micro and macroecological scales. Prior to that I completed a Research Masters at the Durham University in the Department of Earth Sciences, investigating the potential interactions between volcanism and global plague pandemics.

My current research is focused on the persistence and reemergence of plague in Madagascar since it's introduction at the beginning of the 20th Century. I am investigating the interactions that a broad range biotic and abiotic factors my have on the persistence and transmission of Y. pestis both with enzootic hosts and human populations.
