I currently mainly teach on a range of courses at the undergraduate level, including Introduction to GIS, Interpreting Geographical Data, Spatial Decision Making, Rivers in the Landscape, and Environmental Modelling. Field teaching includes the Lake District (compulsory first-year trip) and Mount St Helens (optional third-year River Management and Restoration module).
I also supervise projects at the postgraduate level and can be contacted with requests to supervise research that aligns with my areas of expertise.
My interests and expertise cover remote sensing, GIS, fluvial geomorphology, and environmental modelling. Current research focuses on the estimation of CO2 evasion from rivers to the atmosphere, using aerial imagery to capture a high-resolution representation of surface waters to help parameterise CO2 evasion models.
