Exploring the Sepsis Care Bundle – link to e-learning package

This e-learning package explores the issues involved for the patient who is admitted with sepsis so learners can:

  • Define sepsis
  • Understand the physiological effects of sepsis
  • Examine the 2016 NICE sepsis care bundle guidelines using a case study approach to:
    • Explore the clinical assessment of sepsis
    • Investigate the management and treatment of a patient who has sepsis

Comments from reviewers include:

"An excellent resource" (UoN Associate Professor)

"Well done - this really is one of the best I've seen" (Sepsis Nurse, member of UKSepsis Practitioner Forum)

"All in all a superb piece of work. We are really keen to put the training link onto our website." (NUH Clinician)

The group presented the resource at the ‘Lets Beat Sepsis’ conference at the University of Hertfordshire on 5 July and have also co-authored an article “Development of an e-learning package for sepsis care” for the British Journal of Nursing (BJN).
