You can help to reduce the health, social and economic impact of COVID-19 by getting vaccinated.

This is because:

1. You are less likely to become infected with COVID-19
2. If you do become infected your illness is likely to be much less severe
3. You are less likely to spread COVID-19 to other members of your community because:
   1. you are less likely to become infected with COVID-19
   2. if you do become infected with COVID-19 after vaccination you will be infectious to others for a shorter period of time
   3. if you do become infected with COVID-19 after vaccination the amount of virus in your nose and throat will be less, which will again reduce the transmission of COVID-19

Other ways to help prevent the impact of COVID-19 are to:

• encourage your family and friends to get vaccinated
• remember to maintain health protective behaviours such as mask wearing, ventilation and social distance in crowded settings even after vaccination
