Dimitris Papadopoulos (University of Nottingham), Maria Puig de la Bellacasa (University of Warwick) and Maddalena Tacchetti (University of Nottingham) have signed a contract for a book on "Ecological Reparation. Repair, Remediation and Resurgence in Social and Environmental Conflict" with Bristol University Press. The book will be a Bristol University Press flagship publication that brings together the original contributions of international scholars in science and technology studies, environmental studies, ecological humanities, art and design, geography and other social sciences.
Amidst the escalating degradation of environments and communities, addressing the threat of social-environmental destruction has become a fundamental challenge for creating and maintaining liveable worlds. "Ecological Reparation" explores different practices of repairing damaged ecologies that exist precariously through various societal, environmental, material involvements and across different locations and geographies. The book offers novel theoretical perspectives and empirical insights on the reparative and insurgent capacity of mending ecologies to craft relations of care and sustenance of human and nonhuman communities.
