Creative methods workshop 2025

On 12^th November 2025, WHSCR (Wellbeing Health and Social Care Research Centre) and ISS (Institute for Science and Society) co-facilitated a workshop in LEGO® Serious Play. Organised and led by Dr Celine Benoit, participants used LEGO® bricks and metaphors to reflect on their experiences of Higher Education. Working individually and then discussing is small groups, we used bricks to generate reflections on the student University experience. As Celine explained at the start, the important point is the discussion that is generated - rather than the models themselves. At the end of the workshop, we discussed broader methodological questions, including similarities and differences between this and focus groups, ethical issues and the wider literature on play in research.
