Description
We are pleased to announce a two-day conference, Women in Legal Academia: Empowering Underrepresented Voices in UK Law Schools, taking place on 9-10 July 2026 at the University of Nottingham (with hybrid access available).
This event is open to all scholars and practitioners interested in inclusive legal education, research, and academic careers. While the conference particularly aims to amplify the voices and experiences of women from underrepresented and marginalised backgrounds, it welcomes participation from across the legal education community, including PhD students, early career researchers, senior academics, and practitioners.

The programme will feature an open call for papers across a wide range of legal fields, including public law, human rights, corporate and financial law, socio-legal studies, legal theory, and interdisciplinary approaches. Alongside research panels, the conference will include keynote addresses and thematic sessions focusing on academic transitions, structural inequality, inclusive institutional cultures, and the future of legal education. Dedicated spaces for mentoring, discussion, and networking will support scholarly exchange and professional development throughout the two days.

Participants are invited to submit paper proposals and register via the MS Form: https://forms.office.com/e/brrxpjmmwU

There is no registration fee. We warmly welcome diverse contributions and perspectives, and please feel free to contact us with any questions.
