Description
Frantzeska ILA Poster

Speaker: Professor Frantzeska Papadopoulou, Stockholm University.

Chair: Dr Klara Polackova Van der Ploeg, University of Nottingham.

Asbtract: Genetic resources and the traditional knowledge tied to them are not patentable themselves, unlike the innovations stemming from these resources. Creating a link between the objectives of the Convention on Biological Diversity and the international intellectual property law system has been a longstanding challenge since the 1990s; however, progress seems imminent. How transformative is the proposed international legal framework on Genetic Resources and Associated Traditional Knowledge? This seminar explores the intricacies of this evolving landscape.
