Dr Orsolya Toth gives lecture on 'The Lex Mercatoria – the Dark Matter of Law?'

Dr Orsolya Toth delivered a UCL Laws/International Law Association (British Branch) Lecture on 17 October 2018 in London. Dr Toth was invited to speak about the topic of her recent book, The Lex Mercatoria in Theory and Practice (OUP, 2017). The lecture was entitled 'The Lex Mercatoria – the Dark Matter of Law?' and it discussed issues of the theoretical justification of the lex mercatoria and made proposals on how to advance rigorous academic arguments in the debate by opening up the discourse to public international law.

The event was followed by questions from the audience and the discussions continued informally during a reception afterwards. The event took place at Bentham House in London and was convened by Dr Ugljesa Grusic at UCL Laws.
