Dr Orsolya Toth speaks at an international conference in Hungary

Dr Orsolya Toth was an invited speaker at an international conference held on 3 May 2018 in Szeged, Hungary. The theme of the conference was 'National Sovereignty and Regional Economic Integration: Non-Trade Values and International Trade'.

Speaking at the trade and investment disputes panel, Dr Toth presented a paper on 'National Interests and the Enforcement of Arbitral Awards' discussing how local interests and protectionism by domestic judges can derail the process of enforcement.

The event was organised by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the University of Szeged and Federal Markets "Momentum" Research Group. Speakers included stakeholders at UNCITRAL, the World Trade Organization and academics from various countries, including Hungary, Australia and the United States.
