Workshop on Vulnerable Consumers and Access to Justice

justice

On 10 July 2018, Professor Peter Cartwright participated in a workshop entitled Global Consumer Lives: (Vulnerable) Consumers or Citizens? at Brunel Law School, London. The workshop was organised by Dr Christine Riefa of Brunel and Dr Séverine Saintier of Exeter Law School and looked in detail both at the causes of consumer vulnerability and at how such vulnerability affects access to justice.

The event was a great success, bringing together a wide range of stakeholders from the dispute resolution, consumer advocacy and health and social care sectors, and linking them with academics from around the world. It is intended that this will lead to further collaboration, and a number of follow-on initiatives are being planned.
