Professor Nigel White gives presentation at Conference on 'Revisiting the Paris Peace Conference, 1919'

Professor White’s paper on the ‘League of Nations, Autonomy and Collective Security’ challenged the perception that the League of Nations was a failure in design as well as in practice. He explored the discussions between the leaders of the victorious powers, those responsible for drafting the Covenant, and legal commentators of the time, to argue that the League possessed sufficient legal autonomy to provide collective security if it had achieved universal support.

The conference was held at the London School of Economics on 8 October 2019.
