In addition to teaching aspects of UN Law (with a focus on Peacekeeping law and practice) on the graduate programme at the Graduate School of International Cooperation Studies (GSICS), Professor White has presented his research at Kyoto University as well as Kobe University.
At Kobe, he contributed to a workshop on 7 November on 'Holding UN Peacekeeping Operations Accountable' with a paper on 'Due Diligence as a Standard of Accountability in UN Peacekeeping'; while at Kyoto University he presented a paper in the Research in International Law Seminar Series at the Law School on 'Pragmatism or Principle? The Security Council and Dispute Settlement' on 9 November.
Throughout his stay Professor White has been discussing with colleagues at Kobe and elsewhere in Japan the development of possible academic and research links. He will return to the UK in December.
