Dr Róisín Mulgrew co-guest edits ICLR Special Issue on National Prosecutions of International Crimes

Dr Róisín Mulgrew, Dr Barbora Holà and Dr Joris Van Wijk (both from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam) have acted as guest editors to produce a Special Issue of the International Criminal Law Review journal.

Published online in January 2019, the Special Issue is entitled 'National Prosecutions of International Crimes: Sentencing Practices and (Negotiated Punishments)'.

The Special Issue aims to bring new knowledge and insights into the mechanisms for and modalities of domestic sentencing of international crimes from some key contemporary cases from around the globe.

It does so by examining the sentencing and punishment of international crimes by national courts in Ethiopia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Peru and Columbia.

In addition to the empirically based analyses written by scholars familiar with the local context of the countries in which atrocity crimes were committed, the Special Issue also provides readers with a comparative analysis of domestic and international sentencing and penal practices.
