Law students Ammar Kazmi and Connor Neri won the 2022 Annual National Mooting Competition held at the University of Southampton on Saturday 16 April 2022. Ammar had this to say on their achievement:
"It was a marathon competition, beginning at 9:00am and ending at 9:00pm. We competed in five rounds and there were 24 contestants in all. We beat Oxford University, LSE, UCL, University of Southampton, and University of Law (among others). The Moot Problem related to a judicial review against the government’s exercise of emergency powers to deal with a future pandemic (INFLU-24). It was a challenging day, but it was incredibly rewarding. We both received lots of positive feedback from the judges, and we had the distinct honour of winning for the School."
We are extremely proud of them and this fantastic news.
