European Security and Defence College 2023

Dr Aris Georgopoulos, Head of Innovation, AI, Strategic and Defence Procurement Research Unit of the Public Procurement Research Group (PPRG), was invited by the European Security and Defence College (ESDC) to address the delegates of the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) orientation programme at the Headquarters of the Hellenic Supreme Joint War College in Thessaloniki.

The programme was attended by military and security officers from EU Member States as well as representatives from EU Institutions and bodies such as the European Commission, the European Parliament, the European External Action Service (EEAS) and the EU Military Staff (EUMS). Dr Georgopoulos discussed the trends regarding European security and defence industrial cooperation, joint procurement and the implementation of the capabilities dimension of the Strategic Compass of the EU within the emerging new geopolitical environment.
