Successful First Year for the University of Nottingham Property Law Research Group!

The University of Nottingham Property Law Research Group was established in July 2024 and has enjoyed a very successful first year of activity. It has held 6 in person sessions which have covered a wide range of property law issues including unmarried cohabitation law, property rights in outer space, constructive trusts and corporate insolvency law and bequests of land to ecclesiastical institutions in 12th century England. These sessions clearly demonstrate the wide range and depth of knowledge, experience and innovative research on property law related issues currently ongoing within our Law School. A full list of our sessions which have run in the current year is provided below.

2nd October 2024: Group Launch Event – Session led by Chris Sargeant and Dr Sam Bannister

18th November 2024: Cohabitation Law Reform – Session led by Dr Sam Bannister

12th December 2024: Constructive Trusts and Corporate Insolvency Law – Session led by Dr Carla Reeson and Dr Sandra Frisby

24th February 2025: Legacies and Legalities: Bequests of Land to Ecclesiastical Institutions in England c1180-1300 – Session led by Dr Sarah White

20th March 2025: The Law of Space Resource Utilisation – Session led by Dr Ricky Lee (University of Canterbury, NZ)
