Viva voce examination success - Giserd Marqeshi

The School of Law is pleased to announce that Giserd Marqeshi passed his PhD viva voce examination on Thursday 15 January 2026.

Giserd's thesis 'Critical Accounts of International Law and UN Peacekeeping: The Hegemonic Function of International Law Making?' was supervised by Nigel White (Emeritus Professor of Public International Law, School of Law, University of Nottingham) and Dr Christy Shucksmith-Wesley (Associate Professor in Law, School of Law, University of Nottingham). 

The lead external examiner was Emeritus Professor Bill Bowring FAcSS, (Birkbeck College, University of London) and the second external examiner was Nicholas Tsagourias (Professor of International Law, University of Sheffield).  Dr Nicholas Gervassis (Assistant Professor in Law (Technology and Data), School of Law, University of Nottingham) served as co-ordinator of the examination.
