Viva voce examination success - Rebecca Bruekers

The School of Law is pleased to announce that Rebecca Bruekers passed her PhD viva voce examination on Friday 9 January 2026.

Rebecca's thesis ‘Reframing Equity: Judicial Discretion and Legal Certainty at the International Court of Justice’ was supervised by Dino Kritsiotis (Professor of Public International Law, School of Law, University of Nottingham) and Dr Hemi Mistry (Associate Professor in Law, School of Law, University of Nottingham). 

 The lead external examiner was James Devaney (Professor of International Law, University of Glasgow) and the second external examiner was Catherine (Kiki) Brölmann (Professor of Public International Law and Head of the Department of International and European Law, University of Amsterdam).  Dr Nicholas Gervassis (Assistant Professor in Law (Technology and Data), School of Law, University of Nottingham) served as chair of the examination.
