Biography
Beverley is currently a clinical trial manager at the Nottingham Clinical Trials Unit. Previous to this Beverley was a research fellow working on the ORBIT clinical trial. Beverley completed her PhD in Psychology/Neuroscience here at the University of Nottingham. During her PhD she investigated the Neural and Social Correlates of Automatic Behaviours. Specifically, she used non-invasive brain stimulation techniques to investigate contagious and impulsive behaviours. This was to harness a better understanding of how these behaviours differ in those with neurodevelopmental and neuropsychiatric conditions. Beverley's research interests are primarily in atypical neurodevelopment. Her work with ORBIT involves working with children and adolescent who lives with Tourette's syndrome or a chronic tic condition. Prior to entering academia, she was a postal worker for the Royal mail. Beverley drove a little red van, delivering mail and parcels to homes and businesses across North Nottinghamshire. A huge career change.

Previous teaching experience
Supervising MSc students with their final year projects. Personal tutor for students enrolled on MSc mental health and clinical practice course. Also working/co-app on the Waiting for Access into Treatment (WAIT) study: an exploration of current interventions offered to children and young people on Children and Adolecent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) waiting lists. Previously a laboratory demonstrator (2016 academic year) teaching and marking first year research methods modules. Supervising medical, undergraduate and masters students with their final year projects.
