Biography

Sachiyo Ito-Jaeger is a Research Fellow in the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Nottingham Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) Mental Health & Technology at the University of Nottingham.

Her research interests include:

- wellbeing and mental health of children and young people

- digital mental health

- Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI)

- Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI)

- mental health literacy

- mental health inequality

- attachment theory

- effects of physical contact

- mixed methods research

Prior to joining the BRC, Sachiyo worked on the AHRC-funded, interdisciplinary project, investigating whether co-created online animations can promote mental health literacy (i.e., understanding mental health issues, reducing stigma, increasing help-seeking efficacy) among young people.

Before joining the University of Nottingham, Sachiyo worked as a post-doctoral researcher for the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development in the United States. She holds a PhD in Experimental Psychology specialising in Developmental Psychology and Social Psychology, as well as a BA in Psychology and a MA in Cognitive and Social Psychology.
