Biography

Dr Will Evans graduated from the University of Leeds MBChB in 2002. After surgical training, gaining MRCS in 2007, he changed career to general practice qualifying as a GP with MRCGP in 2010. He completed a Post Graduate certificate in Education in Primary care with Merit from the University of Leeds in 2013, and an MSc in Genomic Medicine with distinction from the University of Manchester in 2018.

Will currently works as a part time salaried GP in Leeds, as a GPwSI in Clinical Genetics with the Yorkshire regional genetic service and with the Primary Care Stratified Medicine group. Will holds an NIHR GP Career progression fellowship award.

Will is also a trustee of a national rare disease charity, NPUK.

Teaching Summary

Will previously trained GP trainees & undergraduate in practice. Will has written several e-learning modules for the RCGPand gives primary care genetic teachings to GP trainees.

Research Summary

Dr Evans research involves using primary care databases to help identify patients with inherited disorders.

HIs current research is looking at patients with ANA positive test results ( an autoimmune test), and seeing if we are able to predict who will and who won't later develop diseases associated with this test.
