Project title: Parietal and cerebellar control of reaching and grasping and its dysfunction in developmental coordination disorder

This study aims to investigate hand-eye coordination in children aged 7 to 10 years by administering a battery of cognitive and movement tests, particularly how long it takes children with and without DCD to alter their movement when reaching to grasp an illuminated ping pong ball when the illumination switches from one ball to another - in the "double step" reaching paradigm.

In a second stage, participants will be recruited after they have taken part in the first eye-hand coordination tests. We will use a series of quick and simple brain scanning techniques to take images of the children's brains, and relate these to their hand-eye coordination ability.
