Biography

Research

Researcher in chronic respiratory disease with a focus on extrapulmonary manifestations and role of pulmonary rehabilitation/ exercise. Research encompasses clinical studies/ trials, mechanistic and epidemiological work. Disease area is mainly COPD but also includes alpha 1 antitrypsin deficiency and cystic fibrosis. Researching the respiratory health of adults born preterm.

Member of several large consortia including MRC/ABPI COPD MAP, Technology Strategy Board "ERICA" and the BLF Early COPD Cohort. Other grants from NIHR, GSK (investigator sponsored) and Pfizer (investigator sponsored). Supervising PhD students.
