Biography

Research

Researcher of chronic respiratory disease, mainly COPD and the role of pulmonary rehabilitation/ exercise. Global health with active collaborations in Nepal. interested in air quality, health inequalities, multiple long term conditions and reaching out to underserved populations.

PI of C FIND COPD, Co-I on the BEACON COPD and previously of several large consortia including MRC/ABPI COPD MAP and Technology Strategy Board "ERICA". Other grants from NIHR and pharma.

Researching the persisting symptoms of patients recovering from acute infections including COVID-19 (mechanistic studies, symptom burden (NoRCoRP: PI) and rehabilitation intervention (REMEDY: PI)).

Supervising PhD students.
