Biography

Working in the University Libraries for 12 years, starting 2013 as a Library Advisor, over 5 libraries. Dealing with students from across the University. Handling queries for information, both in print and e-resources. Managing priorities from medical student to engineering. Working in library acquisitions, processing purchasing for new stock and verifying links for online resources. Dealing with the general public, medical staff using the University Libraries and liaising with staff when school children come to visit.

Working in the finance department for 1 year, as a Finance Assistant, within procurement reviewing and approving spending for teaching and research purposes. Working in a small team for the Vet School and Bioscience School.

Working in clinical trials, as a Trial Administrator, for 2 years on various projects, TB-DILI, MOOSE, COACH, GBS3, POP-I and STADIA. I liaise with staff in the Nottingham Clinical Trials Unit, (NCTU) and staff at site to process, participant expenses, sending out vouches and any concerns trial site staff may have with randomisations, where I refer them to senior colleagues.

Expertise Summary

Currently working in Nottingham Clinical Trials Unit, (NCTU), where I am as a Trial Administrator.

I work on MOOSE an arthritis trial a two arm trial, comparing the same drug administered oral and via injection. This two arm trial in comparing which treatment arm is most effective. I deal with the day administration around filing away delegation and training logs, sending out vouches to participant as set time points in their treatment for completion of clinic visits, processing site payments for randomising participants and checking the database for any queries that need resolving.

POP-I Study comparing different treatment post operative surgery for anemic patients. This is a multi-armed trial comparing various interventions to see which has the best outcome. I send out questionnaires to participants at time points to collect key primary data for analysis. Filing away delegation and training logs and processing site payment for recruitment.

COACH Study is comparing Cochlear Implant with Hearing Aids at just outside the NICE guidance. He I process participant expense and expressions of interest. I cover the inbox when senior colleagues are on leave.
