Research Summary

Research Fellow within the Arthritis Research UK Centre for Sport, Exercise and Osteoarthritis.

Study Manager and Principal Investigator (Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust) for the multi-centre Significant Ankle Ligament Injury (SALI) Cohort study. The SALI study is a longitudinal prospective cohort study that aims to determine risk factors for incomplete recovery following a significant ankle ligament injury and for the development of ankle osteoarthritis.

We are recruiting ankle injury patients from Emergency Department sites across the UK: Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham, Urgent Care Centre, Nottingham, Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, Leeds General Infirmary, St James Hospital Leeds, University Hospital of Coventry and St Cross Rugby.

Recent Publications

Past Research

PhD student and Research Associate in the Arthritis Research UK Pain Centre, Nottingham. My thesis examined structural associations of pain in the osteoarthritic human knee joint. It describes a key role for synovial inflammation in mediating an association with symptomatic osteoarthritis.
