Assistant Professor in Anatomy,
I did my first degree in dentistry at Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine in Karachi, Pakistan. Subsequently, my love and passion for anatomy made me pursue an MSc in Human Anatomy at the University of Edinburgh.
Following my master's, I worked as an Anatomy Demonstrator at the University of Birmingham where my role involved teaching anatomy, histology, and neuroanatomy to medical and dental students using a wide range of activities and resources. I then undertook an MMedSci in Medical Education at the University of Nottingham.
Subsequently, I worked as Lecturer in Histology and Anatomy and Senior Lecturer in Medical Education at the University of Sunderland where my role involved delivering high quality anatomy/histology education on the undergraduate medicine program and training healthcare professionals on the postgraduate Medical Education program. I was delivering teaching, facilitating PBL, creating educational resources/content, assessing and marking in histology and medical education. I also had various leadership roles within both undergraduate and postgraduate courses including Module leadership, EDI leadership, Unit leadership and Year leadership. Finally, I was supervising both undergraduate and postgraduate student projects and was also providing pastoral support to medical students.
As Assistant Professor in Anatomy at the University of Nottingham, I am responsible for supporting the delivery of high quality anatomy education to Graduate Entry Medicine (GEM) students, and students on the Medical Physiology and Therapeutics program. We use a mixture of anatomy resources including both cadaveric as well as non-cadaveric. In my role, I am also responsible for leading on modules, supervising students, marking and providing pastoral support to students.
