Biography
Sonia Gran (née Ratib) has a BA in Mathematics and French studies from the University of Birmingham and a MSc in Medical Statistics from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. In August 2014 she completed a PhD, at the University of Nottingham, in liver disease epidemiology using the Clinical Practice Research Datalink and Hospital Episode Statistics.
Before commencing her PhD in the Division of Epidemiology & Public Health, she worked as a medical statistician at the former Trent Institute for Health Services Research, a study co-ordinator for the Trent Hepatitis C cohort, and as a project manager for the MRC's Institute of Hearing Research.
Sonia joined the Centre of Evidence Based Dermatology as an Assistant Professor in October 2014. She provides statistical/epidemiological support and is leading projects using large routine healthcare data sources.

Undergraduates:
Sonia is module convenor for the optional module: 'Improving your chances of publication', for 3rd year medical students.
Postgraduates:
Sonia teaches on the Master of Public Health programme. She is module convenor for the Further Medical Statistics module and contributes to the Medical Statistics module.
She also teaches on the CEBD's annual short courses: BEES and Summer Schools.

Sonia Gran's current research is focused mainly on using the Clinical Practice Research Datalink and Hospital Episode Statistics in the area of eczema, vitiligo and blistering diseases including bullous pemphigoid.
She currently leads and collaborates on externally funded projects by the NIHR.
