Senior Research Fellow, Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences
Sophie is a Senior Research Fellow in the Centre for Academic Primary Care. Her research focuses on helping people lead healthier lives, with a particular interest in reducing the harm of smoking in pregnancy. She has been involved in research examining smoking cessation in pregnancy, nicotine replacement therapy in pregnancy, e-cigarette use in pregnancy, secondhand smoke exposure in infants and postpartum smoking relapse prevention.
She has a PhD in Primary Care from the University of Nottingham, and her background is in Health Psychology. She has expertise in mixed methodologies within applied health research, including systematic reviews, surveys, advanced statistical analyses, and qualitative research.
Sophie supervises PhD students, undergraduate and Masters research students.
