Postgraduate Masters Loan

Masters loan provided by the UK government

A Postgraduate Masters Loan can help with course fees and living costs while you study.

You can get a loan of up to £11,570 for courses starting on or after 1 August 2021. The amount you'll get is not based on you or your family's income. It will be paid directly to you.

Whether you qualify depends on:

  • your course
  • your age
  • your nationality or residency status

Full eligibility criteria can be found on the GOV.UK website.

Funding for postgraduate loans is different if you normally live in ScotlandWales or Northern Ireland.

Students from the EU, EEA and Switzerland who are resident in the UK with 'settled' or 'pre-settled' status under the EU Settlement Scheme may qualify for a UK masters loan. Loans are not available for other international students.
