Leverhulme early career fellowship is now open

The university has now begun its internal processes for putting forward applicants for the Leverhulme Early Career Fellowships scheme.

The scheme provides support for outstanding early career scholars with a research record but who have not yet held a full-time permanent academic post. The objective is for Fellows to undertake a significant piece of publishable research during the tenure of the award, so the project should not be a reworking or mere extension of the candidate’s doctoral research project. Further eligibility criteria are listed on the Leverhulme website linked above. It is imperative that applications show a strong fit between a mentor on the school’s academic staff and our wider research environment.

For initial sifting, applicants should email a c.v. and two-page statement of the proposed research (Arial font size 11, single-line spaced, margins no smaller than 2cm) before 5 pm on Wednesday, 30 November to; applications will be sifted by representatives of the school’s Research Committee. Applicants must have been in contact with a potential mentor who would be prepared to support their application before this deadline.
