Congratulations to the School of Politics and International Relations' Dr Pauline Eadie who has recently secured funding from the Arts and Humanities Research Council for her project Contradictions in UK Migrant Law and Women's Advocacy: the Case of Trafficked/Undocumented Filipino Women
Alongside co-investigator Dr Helen McCabe, Dr Eadie will examine the issue of 'tied' visas that bind migrant workers or partner/spouses to designated households in the UK. They will explore the extent to which tied visas facilitate abuse as victims are dependent on their employers or spouse/partner for their legal immigration status.
The project has secured total funding of £94,783 from the AHRC responsive mode: Curiosity Award: Round Four. The project will run for one year form April 2025.
Congratulations Pauline and team!
