Kevin in currently undertaking a doctoral research at the School of Politics and International Relations which is part funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and Transparency International-UK. He has previously earned a Masters in Social Science Research at University of Nottingham, a Masters in Social & Political Theory from Birkbeck College, University of London and a Bachelors Degree in Politics and Sociology from University of Sheffield. Kevin is a Research Associate at Transparency international and is currently associated with NICEP.

The global financial crisis of 2008 brought the UK banking system perilously close to the brink of collapse. In the intervening years, subsequent inquiries and reports have focussed on proximate factors: light-touch regulation, irresponsible lending and insufficient capital reserves. Little attention, however, has been given to why such behaviour was permitted in the first place. In response, Kevin's research critically examines the extent to which the 'capture' of policy, regulatory and state institutions and processes by the banking sector help account for the UK's financial crisis and subsequent responses.
