I am an Assistant Professor in Politics and International Relations.

Expertise Summary

I am interested in British foreign and security policy, particularly in relation to the Middle East. In the past I have also focused on military interventions in the Middle East and how lessons can be learned from these past operations to inform current and future policy.

Teaching Summary

I teach in the areas of International Relations, security and a specialist modue on the Middle East and the World.

Research Summary

I have three broad areas of research interest:

1. British foreign policy 2. British-Middle East foreign and security relations 3. The relationship between the past and contemporary policy-making (lesson learning)

Selected Publications

I am interested in supervising anything on Britain and the Middle East or the use of the past in contemporary policy-making.
