Ergul Celiksoy

Dr Ergul Celiksoy works as part of the Rights Lab's Law and Policy Programme, examining the intersections between modern slavery, criminal justice, and criminal law. Ergul is currently working on a project exploring responses to modern slavery and human trafficking in the agenda of the United Nations Security Council. He is also conducting research on the use of digital payment methods in cases of online sexual exploitation of children in Europe and the Philippines, to identify how investigation and prosecution in these cases can be improved. Ergul’s has a background as a qualified Turkish lawyer, with a research focus on European and comparative law and policy related to life imprisonment and prisoners’ rights.
