Henry Staples is a Rights Lab Research Fellow with the Leverhulme Centre for Research on Slavery in War, a collaborative centre between the University of Nottingham and King's College London. His focus in the Leverhulme Centre is on governance and interventions, particularly how organisational and policy responses are designed, implemented, and experienced before, during, and after conflict.
Henry works at the intersection of human geography and political science and holds a PhD from the University of Sheffield, where he researched post-conflict reintegration in rural and urban Colombia. Drawing on comparative and participatory methods, he has since contributed to international projects across Colombia, South Africa, and the UK, on topics including migration, crisis and community-led peacebuilding. Henry is also a Fellow of the Centre for the Comparative Study of Civil War at the University of York.
