Katherine (Kat) Watson (she/her) is a Research Fellow in Reproductive Rights and Anti-Trafficking in the Rights Lab's Law and Policy Programme. She works as part of a project that is developing and applying a reproductive justice approach to analyse reproductive exploitation within modern slavery and human trafficking. Her research is at the intersections of human and children's rights, gender and sexuality, and her interests include child, early and forced marriage and union; gender-based violence; sexuality education; and adolescents' access to sexual and reproductive health services. She is a qualified (non-practising) barrister with 20 years of experience working directly with feminist/human rights movements, funders, women's funds and civil society organisations globally and in the UK, providing legal and qualitative research and technical and strategic input. She is currently undertaking a PhD part-time, holds an MSc from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a BA from Boston University.
