Pankaj Chug

Visiting Fellow in Child Trafficking, Survivor Identification and Support

Pankaj Chug is a Rights Lab Visiting Fellow in Child Trafficking, Survivor Identification and Support and is part of the Rights Lab's Measurement and Geographies Programme. He is pursuing his doctorate with research focused on child trafficking following 13+ years of rich and diverse experiences in industry and public services in India. He has degrees in Physical Science and in Business Administration and has worked in Indian Railway Protection Force as the Divisional Security Commissioner. He has been actively involved in solving many child trafficking cases. Through his mixed methods participatory research, he aims to explore how the railway ecosystem can help in predicting, preventing and protecting child trafficking victims in collaboration with state and non-state stakeholders. This work will show the critical yet significantly unexplored role that transportation providers can play in anti-trafficking work.
