Rania Vamvaka (she/her) works as part of the Rights Lab's Law and Policy Programme as a Research Fellow in Anti-Trafficking and Justice Systems. Her expertise spans queer asylum, community cohesion and participatory methodologies. She completed her PhD at Cardiff University, School of Social Sciences, on LGBTQ+ immigration and asylum policy. Since 2016, Rania has been the co-chair of Glitter Cymru, a Wales-based grassroots organisation for queer people of colour and forced migrants. Over the years, Rania has advised the Welsh Government on various equality actions plans and worked with organisations like Stonewall UK, Tate Modern, and Queer Britain to advance the rights of queer refugees and asylum seekers.
