Vicky Brotherton

Rights Lab Head of Policy Engagement and Impact

Email: vicky.brotherton@nottingham.ac.uk

Vicky Brotherton leads the Rights Lab's policy engagement and impact. She works with all five of our research programmes, with a particular focus on our Law & Policy programme, on the design and delivery of policy-focused research in collaboration with government, policy-makers, and other organisations and individuals with a policy interest. This includes a focus on the integration of survivor voices and experiences into global antislavery work and policy-making. She works on the impact of policy- and survivor-focused research, and the application of Rights Lab research in policy interventions. She co-develops research projects with external partners, and works to understand the research needs of the policy and survivor-support sectors in order to inform Rights Lab research priorities. Before joining the Rights Lab in 2019, she was the Victim Protection & Partnerships Lead at the Office of the Independent Anti-Slavery Commissioner, and previously the Coordinator of the Anti-Trafficking Monitoring Group, a UK-wide NGO coalition established in 2009 to monitor the UK’s response to human trafficking.
